Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) conduct PCS examination every year to select candidates for Group A and Group B posts. This examination is one of the toughest exams of Uttar Pradesh. Candidates selected through this exam are selected to to run the democracy of the state at the grass root level. Deputy Collector or SDM is the most popular post of this exam which is the most sought after post of this exam. UPPSC PCS Final Result 2021 has been declared on 19 Oct 2022.

Pattern of Examination-

UP PCS exam is conducted in three phases-

Prelims– This is the first stage of the elimination test which can be given by everyone who have filled the form. Next two stages i.e. Mains and Interview/ Personality Test can only be given who have cleared the first stage. Prelims is the most important test because most of the students get eliminated by this test. Those who clear the cut offs are required to fill the mains exam form to appear in main written test. Every year lakhs of candidates give UPPSC PCS prelims test but only a few thousand get selected for the mains examination.

Mains Examination- This is a comprehensive descriptive type test which consists of total 8 papers to assess the in depth knowledge of candidates about the subjects. In mains examination candidates have to give 1 General Hindi paper, 1 Essay paper, 4 General Studies Papers and 2 Optional subjects paper. Both General Hindi and Essay papers have maximum 150 marks while all other 6 papers have maximum 200 marks. This way mains examination consists of maximum 1500 marks.

Interview or Personality Test- This is the final stage of selection process in which candidates have to appear before the Interview Board. This test consists of a maximum of 100 marks. Interview tests the candidates thought process and his views towards the society. This also tests the candidate’s decision making and problem solving skills in such a way that they can contribute the maximum for the benefit of the society. Interview board also assess the moral and intellectual character of candidates.

How many papers are there in UPPCS Mains exam?

UPPCS mains exam has total eight papers with maximum of 1500 marks. Candidates who clear the mains exam are called for the interview.

What is the negative marking of UPPCS prelims?

UPPCS prelims has 1/3rd negtive marking i.e. if you correct one question and incorrect three questions your overall marks will become zero in those questions.

Which is more difficult UPSC or UPPCS?

UPSC Civil Services exam is considered one of the toughest exams in the world. UPPCS is a state level examination for which most of the aspirants are from Uttar Pradesh or neighboring states while UPSC exam is given by candidates from all over the country. Further syllabus of UPSC Civil Services is much more and conceptual than UPPCS. Thus we can say that clearing UPSC is much more difficult than clearing UPPCS.

What is the cut off marks of UPPCS 2021?

UPPSC release cut off marks only after the declaration of the final result. As UPPSC has declared 2021 final result it is expected that the cut off marks shall be released by the Commission soon.
