Eligibility Criteria-

Candidates who want to apply for APO examination must a degree in law and must be eligible to be registered as an advocate.

Pattern Of Examination-

UP APO exam is conducted in three phases-

Prelims- The prelims examination is for shortlisting of candidates. This exam is conducted in offline mode with the objective choice questions. Total 150 questions are asked out of which 100 questions relate to legal subjects while rest 50 questions relate to general knowledge. Indian Penal Code (IPC) 1860, Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) 1973, Indian Evidence Act 1872, UP Police Act and UP Police Regulation comprises the law subject section.

Mains Examination- Those candidates who clear the prelims examination will be eligible for the mains examination. This is a written test which test the in depth knowledge of students about the subject. It has multiple legal subjects papers, essay paper and language paper.

Personality Test/ Interview- After clearing both the stages i.e. prelims and mains candidates will be called for an interview. This is a perosnality test which assesses the personality and suitability of the candidate for the post.

After that merit list will be prepared and on that basis candidates will be recommended for the post of Assistant Prosecution Officer.
