Jharkhand Judiciary (Civil Judge) Notification 2023

Jharkhand Public Service Commission has released the notification of Civil Judge (junior Division) for the year 2023. A total of 138 vacancies has been released to be fulfilled. Interested candidates can fill the form on the official website on or before 21-September-2023. Other details regarding the vacancy such as important dates, application fee, syllabus and exam pattern is discussed below.

  • Last Date for Apply Online : 21/09/2023, ( Till 5 PM )
  • Exam Fee Last Date : 27/09/2023, ( Till 5 PM )

Application Fee-

  • General Category : Rs 600/-
  • Reserved Category : Rs 150 /-
  • Mode of Payment : E-Challan and Online Payment (Debit card / Debit card / Net Banking)

Age Criteria-

  • Minimum Age : 21 Years.
  • Maximum Age : 35 Years.

Eligibility Criteria-

  1. Candidates must have a degree of law either of 3 years or of 5 years; and
  2. Candidates must be enrolled as an advocate

Note– The abovementioned qualification must be obtained till the last date of the submission of application form.

Jharkhand Judiciary Latest Syllabus 2023

PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION

The Preliminary Exam shall consist of –

  • General English
  • General Knowledge (including Current Affairs)
  • The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908.
  • The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.
  • The Indian Evidence Act, 1872.
  • The Law of Contract, 1872.
  • The Indian Penal Code, 1860.

The Preliminary Examination shall be of 100 marks. Marks obtained in Preliminary examination shall not be counted for the final merit list.

MAINS EXAMINATION

The Mains exam will consist of 4 papers of 100 marks each, comprising of questions on the following subjects. Each paper will be of 3 hours.

Paper – I
  • Procedural Law (The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 and The Code of Criminal Procedure,
    1973).
  • The Indian Penal Code, 1860.
  • The Indian Evidence Act, 1872.
  • The Limitation Act, 1963.
Paper – II
  • The Contract Act, 1872
  • The Sales of Goods Act, 1930
  • The Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881
  • The Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996
  • The Transfer of Property Act, 1882
Paper – III
  • The Hindu Law and The Mohammedan Law
  • Rent Control Law.
  • The Specific Relief Act, 1963
  • Jurisprudence
Paper IV (Language)
  • Hindi & English (Essay, Precise writing, Translation & Paraphrasing)

VIVA-VOCE/INTERVIEW

  • There shall be Viva-Voce Test of 100 marks. In the Viva-Voce Test the minimum required qualifying marks would be 25% or the General category candidates and 20% for SC/ST/EBC & BC.
